We slept late and took a long nap this afternoon, so we should be really rested up! The weather was gorgeous today. It is the first day since we arrived Sunday that we could see “our” mountain -- it has been covered with clouds and rain until now.
This morning we walked south along the beach for a couple of miles.
Then we came back and ate a great meal at the restaurant here. Later in the afternoon we walked into town (a 3 mile round trip) and visited the castle (1600’s - an early 1700 capture, we think) on a high hill that overlooks the seaside. It was very interesting to visit,
but we couldn’t read any of the Spanish and didn’t have a guide, so we don’t know a lot about what we were seeing. The view of the town and sea from the tower was great.
Verle’s rib didn’t bother him during our walks.
